The present review article summarizes the recent findings reported in literature with regard to use of molecularly imprinted polymers for removal arsenic from water and wastewater. MIPs are which a template is employed order enable formation recognition sites during covalent assembly bulk phase, via polymerization or polycondensation process. efficiency both species mechanism highlighted. results have shown that under certain conditions, demonstrated sorption capacities up 130 mg/g As(V) 151 As(III), while regeneration ability was found reach more than 20 cycles. overall showed further development could result promising adsorbents waters. not only but also other inorganic contaminants considered very important topic, great potential terms future applications treatment. main advantage these materials they selective toward contaminant interest. This enhanced selectivity attributed incorporation specific templates, can then adsorb interest almost exclusively.
